About Us
The European community signed the WEEE (Waste of Electronic and Electric Equipment) in law in 2006. For many countries like Germany it is impossible to import electronic devices without a WEEE registration number. Although all 27 countries signed the new waste law, not all of them are operational. At this time, Germany is the most advanced. The UK started in January and other countries are following. It is to be expected that all 27 EC countries will have a WEEE registration implemented by 2008. It took us 1 year to set-up this service, and we still need to do a daily follow-up to keep track of the changes.
How does it work?
Every manufacturer/imported has to register with each country individually. A national WEEE number is assigned after the registration and after a security payment to the government. This security guarantees that the recycling cost of the imported goods after the end of life will be paid for even if the importer becomes insolvend or goes bankrupt. This registration has to be done in each country. In most cases it has to be done in the national language and not in English. You had to know 22 languages to complete this task for all 27 EC countries. In all cases there will be a need of a local bank account in the EC. Making no registration not only limits your market potential, it also opens an opportunity for heavy penalties!
How can we help?
We have a partnership with receicling companies in each of the 27 EC countries. Many members of our team are from Europe and they understand the local languages. We also have partnerships with local banks that allow a smooth way of opening a bank account. If you have no branch office in Europe, then it could take 6 months before you can open a bank account and $1000s legal fees. We offer an all included quote. You not only save money but you can now also start exporting faster! Contact one of our sales team or fill out the non binding quote form.
